We are sure you all remember the days of “The Wedding Album Ceremony”. A ritual repeated once a year during family get-togethers or when special guests are visiting. Parents or grandparents would disappear upstairs during a coffee with a wry smirk and a – “Now you just sit right there and I’ll get the album!” Where could it be hiding? At the top of the wardrobe? Amongst the piles of boxes in the spare room? Perhaps the darkest corners of the attic? Wherever the album is lurking it soon appears – cue the close up shot and slow motion dust blowing from the top of the book.
So, is the traditional wedding album a thing of the past? We don’t think so. Sure, times have changed, technology is far more advanced from the last generation. Plus, we have become a society of documentarians. Facebook, Instagram and Youtube all have their place but are not direct replacements for a high quality, bespoke album. After your wedding is complete, L&B offer your large resolution finals on USB memory stick or CD (although CD may not be the best option as they can be easily damaged). Online file sharing is popular too or even a custom built wedding website that we can create that encompasses your journey from start to finish. We still feel that these do not replicate emotional engagement of something physical you can flick through whenever you want to, without having to power in a laptop or swipe through a gallery on your phone.
